# Connect Lineaje MCP Server to Claude Desktop

Connect Claude Desktop to Lineaje UnifAI and search SBOM data.

The Lineaje MCP Server gives Claude Desktop direct access to Lineaje tools.

### Add the Lineaje MCP Server

1. Open **Claude Desktop**.
2. Go to **Connectors**.
3. Select **Add custom connector**
4. Enter a connector name, such as **Lineaje UnifAI**.
5. Enter this MCP Server URL:

```
https://mcp.v2.prod.veedna.com/mcp
```

6. Select **Add** or **Connect**.
7. Complete authentication when prompted.

The Lineaje MCP Server is now available in Claude.

### Use Lineaje tools in Claude

Start a new Claude conversation. Enable the **Lineaje UnifAI** connector.

Claude uses the Lineaje MCP Server tools when they apply to your request.

### Search SBOMs with `sbom_search`

Use `sbom_search` to search SBOM data available in Lineaje. Ask questions in natural language, such as:

* Which applications contain `log4j`?
* Find SBOMs containing `openssl`.
* Where is `lodash` version `4.17.20` used?

Claude selects `sbom_search` when needed and returns relevant Lineaje results.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.veedna.com/unifai/setting-up/configuring-the-lineaje-mcp-server/connect-lineaje-mcp-server-to-claude-desktop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
