# Setting Up

To set up UnifAI:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Log into Lineaje Portal

Your account admin receives a welcome email. The admin logs in to the Lineaje Portal using the provided credentials.

{% hint style="info" %}
You must change your password after your first login.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Invite Users to UnifAI

Your account admin invites users to UnifAI.

* Invite your developer to [configure the MCP Server](/unifai/setting-up/configuring-the-lineaje-mcp-server.md).
* Invite your Application Security, AI Security, and GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) teams to [Get Started with Missions](/unifai/missions.md).
 {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Installing a Hook for Automatic Scanning

Use this workflow when hook integration is available in your IDE.

Hooks automatically detect changes to a file and send the file to the MCP server for policy violation detection and remediation. To learn more, see [Installing a hook for automatic scanning](/unifai/scanning-for-violations/scanning-in-ides.md#installing-a-hook-for-automatic-scanning).
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.veedna.com/unifai/setting-up.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
